Osaki is well known for manufacturing high-quality massage chairs. The OS-4000 zero-gravity executive full-body massage chair features high-end benefits that’ll take your massaging experience to the next level.
But is it worth the price? You’ll decide for yourself!
In this article, we’ll explore everything about the OS-4000: dimensions, features, modes, and installation. Shall we begin?
Will It Fit You?
Before going into any details, you should check whether the chair fits you.
The shoulder massagers are 20 inches apart. Hence, they can fit a person with up to 22 inches of shoulder-width or 46-inch jacket size.
If your shoulders are broad, you may feel that it’s tight and uncomfortable. In that case, I recommend you go for the Osaki OS-3D Pro that offers extra 1.5 inches in the shoulder region.
Considering the width, the chair’s seat measures 17 inches. This can fit up to a 40-inch waist size. ِAs for the height, the OS-4000 delivers the optimal experience to people between the range of 5’4” and 6’3”.
Features of the Osaki OS-4000 Massage Chair
In this section, we’ll dive into the chair’s technicalities to see what it has to offer.
Ergonomic Design
The OS-4000 rollers move along an S-track system. This means that they follow the curvature of your spine instead of moving in a straight line.
In other words, the rollers move forward for the neck and retract a bit in the mid-back. They then move forward again for the lumbar region and finally retract at the sacral area.
This feature is already found in other chairs. But the OS-4000 goes the extra mile by implementing some kind of AI technology. It analyzes your back curvature and adjusts the rollers’ track accordingly.
Hence, you’d be massaged by a personalized S-track. This adds a lot to the comfort and the massage quality.
Dual-Stage Zero Gravity
This feature is inspired by NASA. They originally developed the zero-gravity position for the astronauts during the take-off. This reclined position lifts your body weight off your back and distributes it equally over your whole body.
This allows your back muscles to fully relax. Therefore, your muscles can benefit the most from the massage.
Moreover, the OS-400 implements this position over two stages. The only difference between them is how much the back is reclined.
In the second stage, your knees become higher than your heart, which improves circulation and enhances relaxation.

Automatic Leg Scan
Before the OS-4000 carries on with the massage, its foot & calf massager automatically adjust to your leg’s length.
Initially, it extends to its full length, and then it starts retracting until it feels resistance from your feet. If it stopped in the wrong position for any reason, you could still adjust the leg length manually from the control panel.
Airbag Massage
The airbags on the OS-4000 were designed to cover the largest surface area with the least possible number of bags.
This is great because it decreases power consumption and makes the chair a lot less noisy. Your wallet can relax, just like your muscles!
For each side, a total of 38 airbags are distributed as follows:
- 3 for the neck
- 2 for the shoulders
- 2 for the lower back
- 8 for the arm and hand
- 6 on the side seat
- 3 for the hip
- 8 for the calves
- 6 for the feet
Moreover, Osaki used durable material with industrial-grade quality. But this doesn’t mean it’s less comfortable. The majority of online reviews praised the softness and the pliability this material offered.
Lower Back Heat Therapy
The application of heat in massages is quite common. It improves circulation and allows the muscles to repair and build properly.
That’s why the OS-4000 features two heating pads in the lumbar area, the most common region for muscle strain.
However, it’s important to note that you shouldn’t run them for more than 30 minutes per day.
Full-Sized Control Panel
On your left side, you’ll find a full-sized control panel mounted on a stick that doesn’t impair your posture by any means. It can pivot in all directions, so you won’t have to move from your comfortable position to interact with it.
The major part of the control panel is occupied by a large LCD screen that shows information about your current massage.
On the lower portion, you’ll find multiple controls through which you can quickly alter the chair’s posture. If you flip this section down, you’ll find a set of buttons that gives you complete manual control over the chair.
From the left portion of the panel, you can choose the preset program or the mode of the massage. The OS-4000 features 6 modes: Swedish, shiatsu, kneading, rolling tapping, and combination.
And lastly, you can find a wireless remote on the top right portion of the panel. You can use this remote to control the main functions of the chair when you’re in the most reclined position. Hence, you won’t have to reach for the panel each time you want to change something.
Things I Don’t Like
I personally like the OS-4000. However, I found some issues to be a bit annoying. So I thought I should share it with you to deliver the complete picture.
Super Heavy
Like most of the massage chairs, the OS-4000 weighs around 250 pounds. Hence, you should be extremely sure about the place you’ll put it in before you install it.
Difficult Installation
The chair comes as four parts: the seat, the back, and two arms. The installation steps are quite easy to follow. But the heavy parts can be a nuisance to carry and mount by yourself.
Also, when you try to mount one of the arms, you’ll find that the screws you’re trying to tighten are somewhat small and easy to go off-track.
That’s why I’d recommend asking for help from a friend or a professional.
To Sum Up
Although it’s somewhat expensive, the Osaki OS-4000 Full Body Massage Chair provides multiple features that make it worth every dollar.
What I like the most about it is the zero gravity position. When that weight is lifted off your back, you’ll experience a whole new level of comfort.
Also, the leg and body scans make sure you’re provided with the most tailored massage possible.
The trade-offs are the heaviness and the difficult installation. Then again, considering the benefits, these disadvantages don’t seem like a big deal.
