My job requires that I am on my feet over 80% of the time, some shifts I even walk over 11,000 steps. When I get home, my feet are throbbing and craving to be rubbed. Looking around I found no one to massage my tired dogs so I looked toward the internet for a solution to my aching problems.
Soon enough, I kept being led to the Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager. It’s a fairly well-known and recognizable foot massager that is highly rated and recommended by many people and users. I saw it’s one of the highest ranking massagers on Amazon and knew it had to be good! With my feet begging me to make the purchase, I’m glad they led me in the right direction.
To begin, Shiatsu is a style of Japanese massage therapy that is historic and ancient in its right. This type of ancient massage works by triggering and delivering pressure to various points that communicate with various parts of the body, delivering positive benefits.
Shiatsu is a Traditional Style of Massage Therapy
If you’re wondering what kind of physical benefits there are other than physical relief, there’s quite a few! Shiatsu massage can increase your blood flow, decrease pain felt in other parts of the body, and relief from daily stressors.

The massager looks pretty modern would blend well in a room adorned with other technological decors. It’s has a very sleek design. The unit is about 12 pounds and can be stored underneath table ends or tall couches.
Using the Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager
Putting your feet into the chambers, you’ll feel pressure from the top of the unit and the massagers on the bottom. It provides a deep massage while simultaneously providing heat to tired, tense muscles. The heat function can be turned off if you run hot or just don’t prefer it!
Along with a toggled heat function, there are five settings that you can adjust to create your ideal massage. The buttons on the unit are soft-touch which is oddly satisfying! Change the functions on the unit itself or use the remote to easily adjust what’s going on.
On the unit, settings are labeled and are nicely lit. Here are the buttons: On/Off, Kneading, Pressure, and Heat. Don’t be afraid to play around and find the perfect amount of pressure, heat, and kneading!
The massage is really enjoyable and packs a lot of power! The pressure of the massage is nice to me but can be adjusted if it’s too much for some feet. I personally enjoy a foot massager that provides a lot of pressure into my over-worked muscles. I’ve been at my job for over 12-years, performing similar actions day in and day out. My muscles need that strong pressure in order to feel loose and relaxed.
The only downfall is I wish there was more action on my heel. My toes feel great after a few minutes but my heel feels neglected. However, if I move my foot around I do feel increased pressure to the heel.
Other than the pressure, the heated massage is so lovely! Not only does this psychically get a deeper massage, but it also relieves pain, too! Being from Chicago, the winters are long and cold. Trecking through the city in the freezing weather is hard enough but I’m looking forward to having this heated massage when I get home.
Great for Cold, Sore Muscles
If you live where it’s cold, this is definitely highly recommended. Few things beat a heated massage for cold stiff joints after work. Just add a hot cup of tea and a fireplace, you’re set! The heated massage does make me smile like no one is watching!
There’s a temperature control automatic shutoff within the unit. Relax knowing there’s an added level of safety for you. The massager will automatically shut off if it becomes overheated. There’s also a general 15-minute shut off timer, in case you happen to accidentally doze off.
Multi-User Friendly Wireless Remote
One of my favorite parts of the Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager is the wireless remote! Not only does it come with one remote, but it also comes with a spare! Just in case you cash in on the inevitable chance you might lose the first. Try attaching the remote to the unit with velcro so you can store them together, safely.
The remote is helpful for people like me who can’t be bothered to bend down during a relaxing massage. But, for those with physical limitations on their bodies, this can be a game-changer! Grandparents would love the remote!
Powerful Performance
In addition to the remote, I love that the Miko massager has five levels. Most previously owned foot massagers only had two or three settings so I was happy to find out this one had five! These can be adjusted to satisfy multiple users in the household.
This massager also ticked one of the biggest boxes in my opinion: washable foot liners. These are essential! Pet hair, dust, and dirt cling to your feet and will end up on the massager. Keep it hygienic and sanitary by easily removing the liners and tossing them in the washer. Use a wipe to clean the outer shell. You can also order more shells if they start to wear with heavy use.
The Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager does come with a one-year-warranty so there’s wiggle room in a buying decision if you feel split. Though be careful! This thing really packs a punch and once you stick your feet in, you might be hooked!
Pros
- Heat function (can be turned off)
- Firm pressure
- Modern design
- Easy to clean
- Two wireless remotes
- 1-year warranty
Cons
- Ignores heel at times
- Pressure can be too much
